Chicago Valentine’s Day

12 02 2013

As you may have heard, Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, the time of year to pull out all the stops and show your significant other how much you care. Some people find it easy to come up with the “just right” gesture as others might find it easier to break into Fort Knox. Luckily, The Streeterville and River North areas of downtown Chicago makes it incredibly easy to “WOW” your better half. Not only can you pair your romantic night at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by booking the “Love is in the Air Package” (inclusive of champagne, Frango Mints, breakfast, and parking) but we have a few great suggestions for a simple night out on the town.

You can take your pick of several restaurants with romantic ambiances. 437 Rush (437 N. Rush) is an excellent Italian Steakhouse with an old school Chicago feel. If seafood is more up your alley, then you can try Devon’s Seafood (39 E. Chicago) where the chic décor and fish selections are hard to beat. Quartino (626 N. State) is definitely for the couple that might be looking for something slightly different. This Italian tapas restaurant has a wide variety of options for every diner.

After dinner, there are quite a few extra add-ons that can make your night even more special. One option is to grab a cup of hot cocoa from Ghirardelli and take a short carriage ride though the busy streets. If the night is too cold perhaps a night cap at the top of the John Hancock, Signature Lounge, while taking in the lighted skyline.

Whatever your tastes or plans may be, there is always something waiting for you in the lovely Streeterville or River North Area.

Happy Valentine’s Day from your friends at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown!
